 Hi! I'm Kristin.

Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Seamstress, Gardener, Chief Muffin Baker, Pancake Flipper, Homesteader.

I did not grow up on a farm but I spent many weekends visiting my Grandparents and many aunts and uncles farms. Milking cows, gathering eggs, butchering chickens, building hay tunnels, and picking fresh vegetables out of the garden. Those times made up some of my best childhood memories. I loved it and knew that was how I wanted to raise my family some day.

My husband, Dale, grew up on his families dairy and beef cattle farm. In 1992 we got married and I joined in on the family farm. The next spring I ordered my first chicks and our little homestead began. Over the years I have raised Nubian dairy goats, ducks, geese, pigs, numerous chickens and tried many gardening methods. Canning, freezing and raising as much of our own food as possible.

I would go with my Grandma to pick blueberries every June. We had a grand time visiting, picking and filing up our buckets with beautiful, blue, ripe berries. As Dale and I had children I would take them along on our berry picking adventure every summer. We have wonderful memories of laying a blanket down in the shade of a bush to keep the little ones out of the sun as much as possible.

As time went on it became harder and harder to make a living with the dairy cows so we started building our herd of grass fed, Angus beef cattle and decided to plant a few blueberry bushes. It started as an experiment to see if we could even grow blueberries, as all I could read was how hard they were to grow. The Lord blessed us and we were successful with our first bushes. We slowly expanded and grew our berry patch into what it is today. A blueberry homestead that is open for you to come and bring your children and grandchildren and make memories your family will cherish for years to come.
